Student of the Day
December 21
- Today’s Student of the Day is generously awarded to Daniel MacAdam, whose Poetry on Film presentation, Highway of Heroes, was voted the winner of our in-class competition. Daniel edged out Ashley Kelly for the honor this year in a very competitive field of entries. For his efforts, Daniel receives 100% in the activity and a thirteen pound turkey, courtesy of Roscoe’s Turkey Ranch.
December 18
- Today’s award will be shared by all of our students who participated in this years Christmas Concert. We had a great crowd (despite the weather) and everyone in attendance enjoyed all the acts. It’s nice when our students come together and show their talents, and you all should be proud for last night’s accomplishments.
December 17
- Today’s Student of the Day award has been taken (well, we gave it to him; he didn’t take it…that’d be wrong) by Steven Myers for getting his work done in English 521 and doing well.
December 16
- Logan Molloy makes his first visit to the Student of the Day list with his hard work since his return from a little time off for being sick. He has turned in some good stuff in English 521 and should be recognized for it.
December 15
- Today’s Student of the Day award goes to English 621’s Peter MacLeod for his good work to date in all things English. His average reflects his work to date. Also, Peter joined the History 621A class in our annual Christmas activities, hoping to share in Coffin’s dreams of KFC glory.
December 14
- Brent MacKinnon takes home today’s Student of the Day for working hard in English 521 so far this year. Besides that, when our in-class wasp nest project accidentally fell off the wall, Brent sacrificed life and limb, getting bitten seventeen times just to save his classmates. That, my friends, is what it takes to be SOD.
December 10
- Today’s Student of the Day award has been given to Peter MacDougall for his work in English 521. Peter didn’t let a family vacation interrupt his progress in English and he very quickly caught up on his workload and turned in his research essay complete and on time.

December 8
- Today’s SOD award is shared by Mitchell Laybolt and Steven MacAdam. You might remember them from hits like English 521 and Canadian History 621. Their Immigration Package video series had them rolling in the aisles – or maybe they were on the floor looking for that Lifesaver that Colin dropped…mmm…Lifesavers…
December 7
- Nathan Trainor is the distinguished recipient of today’s Student of the Day award (he was also supposed to receive a candy cane, but it was dropped and broken) for his hard work to date in History 621A. Nathan shows up, does his work well and on time – things not necessarily always shared by all his peers.

December 2
- Angela Corrigan makes her first visit to the Student of the Day lounge today for her hard work and diligence in History 621A. Besides the good work she’s been doing, she always finds time to say good morning and ’see you later’, which are nice gestures to an old bald guy.
December 1

November 16

November 2 – November 5
- There are many candidates for Student of the Day from both soccer squads who won gold medals on Saturday. Since they are too numerous to mention, let’s just say congratulations (especially to senior players who won’t be returning to defend their gold medals) and well done to all players, specifically the ones which Coffin is lucky to see on a daily basis in Canadian History 621, English 621, and English 521. Two years in a row…not too shabby…
October 30
- Afton McInnis gets today’s Student of the Day award for a couple of reasons. First of all, she did an outstanding job preparing the slide show for yesterday’s pep rally (in fact, the entire Leadership class deserves a pat on the back for a job well-done). Secondly, Afton has displayed a willingness to learn and improve her work in English 621.
October 29
- Although it is difficult to pick just one Student of the Day from yesterday’s big senior women’s soccer game, we here at coffinblog are awarding today’s award to keeper Kelcy McNally who very calmly stopped all shots that came her way during the game. Additionally, she is a very strong student in English 621 and should be recognized. Honorable mention goes to the rest of the squad also in Coffin’s classes. Congratulations on the big win.
